Knights School understands that Security Training for the Faithful is especially challenging for 3 reasons: The team is generally volunteer, there is a balance between security and hospitality that must be struck, and church budgets rarely plan for security training. Our program seeks to address all issues.
The relevant subjects that we train include Legal Issues like Liability, Search & Seizure, Detention and Arrest, Use of Force, Privacy and Criminal Law. We also teach the soft-force techniques used by professionals to deal with problem people, using Dr. Thompson’s Verbal Judo as the basis, as well as Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office’s On-Track (Mental Crisis Communications) and Three-Ds (drunks, drug-affected and mentally disadvantaged) Communications. Naturally, we teach Physical Security Measures (barriers, architecture, locks, doors, etc.), as well as CCTV & Alarms (Electronic Security), Internal Security Concerns, and Basic Law Enforcement Defensive Tactics. We can also teach force options, such as Pepper Spray and Defensive Pistol, as well as Active Shooter Training.
Our instructors are certified as such by the governing agency in their subject area, such as Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards & Training, Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission, ASP, American Red Cross, etc.
We also teach force options courses, to include Tactical Baton, OC (Pepper Spray) and Pistol, and certify graduates in their use.
Our clients for Security Training for the Faithful include Rehoboth Shomreem (Synagogue Security), Portland First Unitarian Church Security, The Collective Church, St Michael’s Catholic Church, House of God, and more.
